Content creators can bring a highly relevant audience to an esoteric shop, particularly when their work already covers tarot, plants, occultism, spirituality or the history of traditions. But a large following guarantees neither credibility nor sales.
Prioritise audience fit over follower count
Look at the nature of comments, editorial consistency, engagement and how closely the creator's audience matches your customers. A highly specialised account with 8 000 followers may generate more sales than a generalist profile ten times larger.
Distinguish gifting from commercial partnerships
Spontaneously sending a product with no request or expectation is not the same as an arrangement in which consideration — payment, products, a percentage of sales or another benefit — is provided in exchange for promotion. Once commercial influence is involved, transparency requirements apply.
The French Ministry of the Economy explains that the commercial nature of content must be clearly, legibly and identifiably disclosed, using labels such as 'advertisement' or 'commercial partnership', and that the advertiser must be identifiable.
Choose a compensation model
A fixed fee pays for content creation and access to the audience. Affiliate payments reward attributed sales. A hybrid model can combine a reasonable fixed amount with commission. Choose based on content value, tracking capabilities and objectives.
Prepare a brief without writing the content for the creator
Specify the product, verifiable facts, legal disclosures, claims to avoid, dates and tracking link. Then allow creative freedom: content that sounds like a scripted advertisement loses much of the credibility you were seeking.
Measure results properly
Create a unique UTM link or code for each creator. Track clicks, orders, new customers, margins and repeat purchases. Do not judge a campaign on views alone.
Keep records and a written agreement
For a structured collaboration, document deliverables, compensation, content usage rights, dates, transparency obligations and cancellation terms.
